The Moose Jaw Major AAA All-Stars’ run at the Canadian Little League baseball championship ended Friday in Calgary.
Representing the Prairies, Moose Jaw lost 9-4 to the B.C. champions from the Little Mountain Little League in the final.
Little Mountain will represent Canada at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. The tournament is to start Wednesday and run until Aug. 28.
The B.C. champs went 8-0 in the Canadian tournament, outscoring their opponents 101-23.
Moose Jaw trailed 9-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning Friday. The All-Stars loaded the bases with two outs, but could manage only one run before Little Mountain ended the rally.
Only one Saskatchewan team has won the Canadian championship. The North Regina Little League All-Stars went to Williamsport in 2002 and went 0-3 in the round-robin.
