Environment Canada issued a tornado watch for Meadow Lake and the surrounding area Thursday, warning that conditions are right for a tornado to form.
The weather service also issued severe thunderstorm watches for the areas around Kindersley, Martensville, Warman, Prince Albert, Shellbrook, and the Battlefords.
Later Thursday afternoon, severe thunderstorm watches were also issued for the areas around Ford Qu’Appelle, Yorkton, Assiniboia, Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle and Moosomin.
Watches mean conditions are right for severe weather, while warnings indicate severe weather is imminent or already occurring.
