The Saskatchewan Roughriders provided more details about their COVID-19 outbreak Tuesday, saying at least five players had tested positive.
The Roughriders said the players are in various stages when it comes to the CFL’s COVID protocol.
The team took COVID tests before heading to Nova Scotia for the Touchdown Atlantic game against the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday. No one who travelled with the Roughriders to Halifax tested positive before the flight.
Saskatchewan was supposed to be preparing Tuesday for Saturday’s rematch with the Argos, but the Roughriders cancelled practice due to the outbreak. They hope to be on the field for practice Wednesday.
The team said that, as of now, the game isn’t expected to be affected by the outbreak.
Kickoff for the Saturday showdown at Mosaic Stadium is set for 5 p.m. The Green Zone pre-game show begins at 3 p.m.
