The human remains found in a Saskatoon park Monday have been identified as those of a 53-year-old woman who was last seen July 10.
The body of Nuzhat Tabassum was found in Hyde Park by a passerby Monday morning.
Police said an autopsy was done by the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service on Tuesday morning and the woman’s death is not believed to be suspicious. Tabassum’s next of kin have been notified.
Tabassum was last seen in the Rosewood neighbourhood early on July 10. Her husband, Tariq Bajwa, said Tabassum left their home at around 5:30 a.m., and disappeared.
Bajwa said his wife had been seeking help for her mental health for several months.
Searchers conducted land and air searches in hopes of finding Tabassum. Police also asked people in the Rosewood neighbourhood as well as surrounding urban or rural areas to check their surveillance cameras for signs of Tabassum.
