RCMP is confirming that five-year-old Frank Young’s body has been found.
Carrot River RCMP received a report on Saturday night at 7:06 pm that Young’s body had been located deceased in the river on Red Earth Cree Nation.
“This is not how anyone wanted the search for Frank to end. Our deepest condolences are with Frank’s family, loved ones, and community who have been greatly impacted by this tragedy,” said Sgt. Richard Tonge, Carrot River RCMP Detachment Commander.
In a Facebook post, Red Earth Cree Nation Chief Fabian Head says he shares this news with a heavy heart and will provide more information at a news conference that has yet to be scheduled.
Head says they continue to ask for prayers and support during this time of grief.
It was April 19th when Young disappeared from his home in Red Earth Cree Nation.
According to RCMP, there are no leads to any suspicious activity. Moving forward, an autopsy will be done at the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.
“We would like to thank everyone within the community and beyond, who assisted in the search for Frank.”
