The Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) got a request from the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) to get someone out of the South Saskatchewan River near the Victoria Bridge on Saturday night.
The SFD received the call at 8:43 p.m. on Saturday night and dispatched a boat to help in the search.
Not long after sending out the boat, the SFD managed to spot two objects of interest at around 9:20 p.m., using a handheld Sonar. The equipment helps track soundwaves underwater to identify certain objects.
At 9:51 p.m., a person was found and paramedics started CPR.
The rescued individual would then be transferred to a nearby hospital.
The case and follow-up have since been transferred back to the SPS.
No other information has been provided on the condition of the rescued person.
