Police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old in connection with the death of a Prince Albert father on Saturday.
That night, police responded to a weapons complaint around River Street West and First Avenue.
When they arrived, they found a 47-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital, where he later died.
That man has since been identified as Barry Pruden.
According to comments made by Pruden’s daughter Skye, she and her father had been out biking and were confronted by a group of strangers.
When Barry took a stand against the strangers, it provided the opportunity for the daughter to run for help. Skye was not hurt.
The accused is charged with second-degree murder and made his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Thursday morning. He’s scheduled to make his next court appearance on June 24.
Because of his age, his name cannot be released.
