A Saskatoon volunteer accused of sex crimes is facing new charges is facing additional charges.
According to Saskatoon police, the Centre for Children’s Justice has laid new charges against 62-year-old Eric Pohorecky. He was first arrested April 22 and charged with four counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference.
At the time, police said Pohorecky was known to be a community volunteer in Saskatoon and said there may be additional victims. On Wednesday, police announced the addition of a fifth charge of sexual assault and a fifth charge of sexual interference.
Police said the initial charges took place over two separate periods, between 2016 and 2017, and between 2018 and 2021. All of the alleged victims were under 16 when the incidents took place, police said.
Despite the additional charges, police said there could still be more victims out there, and asked anyone with information to get in touch with them.
Pohorecky made a court appearance Tuesday and will appear again next month.
