A police dog and the Air Support Unit helped officers in Saskatoon catch up with two stabbing suspects Monday night.
According to police, three people were stabbed before both suspects were tracked down and arrested.
The first incident happened in the 1300 block of Eighth Street East, where a man was robbed and stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition, but police were called back to the same area a few hours later after getting a report of two more people being stabbed during a robbery in the same part of the city.
A police officer happened to be close enough to witness the second incident, but both the suspects and victims fled. Police called in their air support and canine units, which tracked down and arrested both alleged perpetrators.
One suspect was a 20-year-old man who’s charged with aggravated assault and robbery, along with breaching court conditions. The second was an 18-year-old man now facing charges of assault with a weapon and robbery.
The victims who fled the scene both made it to the hospital, police said, but none of their wounds were life-threatening.
Police said they don’t believe either incident was a random attack.
