The Moose Jaw Warriors are down to their last strike.
The Winnipeg Ice beat the host Warriors 5-3 on Wednesday to take a 3-1 lead in a best-of-seven WHL Eastern Conference semifinal. Game 5 is set for Friday in Winnipeg, where the Ice has outscored its visitors 29-6 while posting a 5-0 record this post-season.
In Wednesday’s game at Mosaic Place, Mikey Milne, Jack Finley, Owen Pederson, Matthew Savoie and Cole Muir scored for Winnipeg, which got 30 saves from Daniel Hauser.
Jagger Firkus had two goals for Moose Jaw and drew an assist on Majid Kaddoura’s tally. Ryder Korczak added three assists for the Warriors, who got a 26-save performance from Jackson Unger.
The Ice was assessed just one penalty in the game, and the Warriors scored on that power play. Winnipeg was 1-for-4 with the man advantage.
