The search for a missing five-year-old boy on the Red Earth Cree Nation entered its third day Thursday.
Frank Young was reported missing to the Carrot River RCMP on Tuesday afternoon. Police and community members have been looking for the boy since then.
According to a media release Thursday, an RCMP plane conducted an aerial search Wednesday but didn’t find any trace of the boy.
“Further aerial searches are planned for today, in addition to a Saskatchewan RCMP Underwater Recovery Team dive in a body of water in the search area,” the release said.
“Members of the local community, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Carrot River Detachment and Search and Rescue, Prince Albert Grand Council Search and Rescue, the Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers and others continue with ground search efforts.”
Young was last seen on Tuesday around 12:30 p.m., at his home on the Red Earth Cree Nation. He also may have been seen at the local playground around 3:30 p.m.
The boy is described as being four feet tall and about 65 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing Paw Patrol rubber boots, green pyjamas with dinosaurs on them and a navy blue windbreaker-style jacket..
Anyone with information about Young’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 in an emergency or the Carrot River RCMP at 306-768-1200.
