The Saskatchewan Roughriders finally are going to get a look at receiver Tevin Jones.
The 29-year-old former NFLer signed with the CFL team prior to the 2021 season, but wasn’t able to attend training camp and was released. On Thursday, the Roughriders announced they again had signed Jones.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder out of the University of Memphis initially signed with the Houston Texans in 2016 as an undrafted free agent and spent that NFL season on their practice roster.
He subsequently had NFL stops with the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars. He had four catches for 61 yards in five games for Pittsburgh during the 2019 season.
A product of Amory, Miss., Jones played in 51 games at Memphis, recording 90 catches for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns. He also appeared on special teams, returning a punt for a touchdown and blocking two punts during his career.
