The Carrot River RCMP is asking for the public’s help to find a missing five-year-old boy.
Frank Young was last seen on Tuesday around 12:30 p.m., at his home on the Red Earth Cree Nation. He also may have been seen at the local playground around 3:30 p.m.
The RCMP said its investigation hasn’t suggested an abduction has occurred and noted the criteria for an Amber Alert have not been met.
According to the Mounties, members of the RCMP have been joined in the search by volunteers from the Prince Albert Grand Council Search and Rescue, Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers and the community. An RCMP plane is to do an aerial search later Wednesday.
“Winter weather conditions are a concern at this time, including the possibility of snow, wind and low temperatures overnight,” the RCMP said in a media release.
The boy is described as being four feet tall and about 65 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing Paw Patrol rubber boots, green pyjamas with dinosaurs on them and a navy blue windbreaker-style jacket..
Anyone with information about Young’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 in an emergency or the Carrot River RCMP at 306-768-1200.
