SaskTel is extending its assistance to Ukrainian-Canadian families for a further three months.
The Crown corporation announced Friday it will continue to waive long-distance charges for SaskTel wireless, landline and business calls made from Canada to Ukraine, and international text messaging fees for texts sent from Canada to Ukraine.
As well, SaskTel won’t collect roaming charges for calls and texts or data overages for customers currently in Ukraine.
The provider initially announced it would waive those fees until March 31. Now, it won’t collect those fees until June 30.
“As Ukrainians continue to defend their homeland, we here in Saskatchewan remain steadfast in support of their brave fight,” Don Morgan, the minister responsible for SaskTel, said in a release.
“By continuing to waive fees, SaskTel is doing their part to ensure Ukrainian-Canadian families in our province can connect with their loved ones in Ukraine during this incredibly difficult time.”
