Denmark is coming to Saskatchewan.
The CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Wednesday they had signed defensive back Stephen Denmark.
The 25-year-old product of Tallahassee, Fla., was selected by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round (238th overall) of the 2019 NFL draft, but didn’t crack their roster. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder also had NFL stints with the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers but didn’t play in any regular-season games.
Denmark started his college career at Valdosta State University as a receiver before moving to defensive back for his senior season.
In 14 games, he recorded 65 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, 12 pass deflections and one forced fumble. He was named an All-Gulf South Conference first-team all-star that season.
