For the first time since July, the Riders can build off a win on Saturday.
With the season on the line, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies refused to be sent home.
The Huskies defeated the University of Calgary Dinos 4-0 to force a crucial series-deciding Game 3 Sunday night.
The Dogs got off to a perfect start and never looked back.
Alec Zawatzky gave the Huskies the all-important first goal of the game before Vince Loschiavo got the next one to earn a 2-0 lead after the first frame.
The offence wasn’t stopping there.
Justin Ball kept the place buzzing with his second goal of the series to extend the Huskies lead to 3-0.
Donovan Neuls added an insurance goal late to make it a 4-0 final.
Meanwhile, goaltender Roddy Ross held the fort down in net stopping all 20 shots he faced on the night.
It was Ross’ first-career playoff start in U-Sports and he was sure to make it one to remember.
The Huskies were on cruise control all night long, outshooting Calgary 42-20.
The Huskies and Dinos will play one final game Sunday night at Merlis Belsher Place to determine a series winner.
