Just over two months after being reported missing, Byron Bear has been returned to his family.
Prince Albert police have confirmed that on Thursday, the remains of the 27-year-old were located in a rural area near Hague.
An autopsy was conducted on Monday.
Bear was originally reported missing by his family on Dec. 7. He was thought to have been involved in a serious assault that occurred the previous morning in the 300 block of Ninth Street East.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. Raine Farrow, 23, and Kyle Burns, 37, are charged with second-degree murder and have pending court dates in the coming weeks.
The Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
