Saskatoon police have charged two people after a woman was allegedly held captive and beaten for four days.
Officers were called to the 3200 block of Preston Avenue South by Medavie Health Services West on Monday at around 6:45 a.m. Paramedics found a woman with injuries that could have been from an assault.
Responding officers learned the woman had allegedly been held in a basement of a house against her will since Jan. 6.
Members of the tactical support and guns and gangs units were sent to a home in the 200 block of Avenue L North. Three people eventually left the home, while a 27-year-old man remained inside.
At roughly 7:45 p.m., the man was taken into custody with some help from the canine unit. Police also found a stolen truck at the home.
A 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old man face charges of unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats of death, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
