You couldn’t have written up a better script so far for Chelsea Carey and her team to kick off the 2022 Viterra Saskatchewan Scotties.
Carey has been perfect through three draws and is the first team to punch their ticket to the playoff round after winning the ‘A’ event.
In the three games, Carey’s team out of the Highland Curling Club in Regina has outscored their opponents 27-12, winning in dominant fashion.
Team Carey will face Penny Barker out of Moose Jaw in the 1-2 page playoff game. Both teams will automatically get two chances for a spot in the Final. Barker won the ‘B’ event against Amber Holland’s rink out of the Kronau Curling Club.
The other two playoff spots remain up for grabs in the ‘C’ event.
Sherry Anderson’s team has had to fight off elimination in two separate draws. They will try to keep the ball rolling when they face Holland for a playoff berth.
Robyn Silvernagle’s team out of the Twin Rivers Curling Club will take on Ashley Howard from the Sutherland Curling Club. The winner will advance to the playoff round for the final playoff spot.
The field began with 12 teams, and a champion will be crowned Sunday.
