Graders will be going 24/7 until Saskatoon’s main roads are cleared from the latest snowfall.
Tracy Danielson, the city’s roadways manager, says a fleet of about 50 pieces of equipment and people are working at all times.
“We will keep working through the priority streets until they’re all done and we expect that to be done by Friday afternoon by the latest,” she told guest host Gerald Bauman on Wednesday’s Brent Loucks Show.
Danielson says only the city’s busiest streets will be graded, as the total of 16 centimetres of snow Saskatoon received isn’t enough for the city to clear residential areas.
Until the end of the week, motorists can expect to see extra graders and city trucks on roads.
“If you can maybe turn off the street, or give them extra space if you’re passing, that’s what I would recommend. Slow down and give them lots of room,” she said.
