Carl Tetachuk helped the Moose Jaw Warriors hold on for a 3-2 WHL victory over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday.
After Moose Jaw built up a 3-0 first-period lead, Tetachuk made 28 saves over the final two periods to keep the Warriors ahead. He finished the contest with 35 stops.
Thomas Tien, Daemon Hunt and Eric Alarie scored for the Warriors (7-8-0-1). Ty Nash and Jett Jones had goals for the Hurricanes (6-10-0-0).
In the only other game Sunday involving a Saskatchewan-based team, Daniel Hauser made 19 saves for the shutout as the host Winnipeg Ice downed the Saskatoon Blades 6-0.
Winnipeg beat the Blades for the second straight night, having won 4-1 on Saturday.
Mikey Milne and Connor Geekie each had a goal and three assists for the Eastern Conference-leading Ice (17-1-0-0) in Sunday’s game. Jakin Smallwood added two goals for Winnipeg, which got its other goals from Maximilian Streule and Zachary Benson.
Saskatoon fell to 11-6-1-0.
