Jordan Hansen from Okotoks became a contender for the Professional Bull Riders Canada Championship after delivering a stellar performance in Saskatoon.
Hansen was one of 15 riders to deliver a score in Round 1 with 82 points. He then climbed the leaderboard when he tied for third in Round 2 courtesy of an 84-point effort.
The Alberta rider followed that up with an event-best 89.5-point score in Round 3 to claim the PBR Saskatoon Classic at SaskTel Centre on Saturday.
The title moved Hansen into third place in the national standings, one spot behind Meadow Lake’s Cody Coverchuk, who finished in second place Saturday.
Only one event remains before the 2021 PBR Canada National Finals in Edmonton on Nov. 12-13 at Rogers Place. The PBR will travel to Yorkton on Nov. 5-6.
