A 31-year-old man is facing eight charges after a gun was fired outside a Saskatoon school Friday.
Saskatoon police said Monday the man was charged with offences including assault with a weapon, use of a weapon while committing an indictable offence, possession of a loaded, restricted firearm, and possession of a firearm while prohibited from doing so.
The police are still looking for a second man whom they believe was involved.
A school in the Massey Place neighbourhood was placed in lockdown as a precaution after the shooting occurred at about 2:30 p.m., in the 1000 block of Northumberland Avenue.
Police didn’t identify the school, but Vincent Massey Community School is in that area.
Officers arrested a man carrying a gun at Avenue Y and 33rd Street.
