A 22-year-old man is facing charges after a woman was sexually assaulted on the University of Saskatchewan campus Wednesday.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, a woman said she was approached by an unknown man who threatened her with a weapon and sexually assaulted her. The assault was reported to police the next day and was communicated to staff and students by the university.
Officers identified the suspect and were in the process of finding him when they got reports of a robbery and an attempted robbery on Saturday.
At about 9 p.m., a man was threatened and had his keys stolen by a man who then ran off. A short time later, an attempted robbery with violence was called in and officers found the man whom they believe was involved in all three incidents.
The 22-year-old man was to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday to face charges including sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, uttering threats and breach of probation.
