Three teens are facing charges after a house in Saskatoon’s Massey Place neighbourhood was hit by gunfire early Wednesday.
The Saskatoon Police Service said officers responded at about 2:30 a.m., to a call about three men with a gun in the 3100 block of Laurier Drive.
When officers arrived, they saw three men walking outside a multi-unit building. One of the men stayed on the scene when confronted by police and was arrested; two other suspects ran off but were arrested nearby.
Investigators determined a gun had been fired into a residence in the area, but there weren’t any injuries.
An 18-year-old man was charged with intentional discharge of a firearm reckless to the life/safety of another person, unlawfully prowling at night, and committing mischief by wilfully damaging property.
A 17-year-old boy had a large quantity of ammunition on him when he was arrested. He’s charged with the intentional discharge of a firearm reckless to the life/safety of another person, unlawfully possessing ammunition, unlawfully prowling at night, and committing mischief by wilfully damaging property.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested while carrying some ammunition and a loaded sawed-off rifle. He’s facing nine gun-related charges as well as unlawfully prowling at night, committing an indictable offence while masked/disguised, and committing mischief by wilfully damaging property.
All three are to remain in police custody until they appear before a judge or justice of the peace.
