Two men have been charged with sexual assault after an incident earlier this month in Saskatoon — and now police say there may be other incidents and other victims in the community.
In a media release Tuesday, the Saskatoon Police Service said a 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth also are facing charges of child pornography and voyeurism.
According to police, officers were called June 8 to Royal University Hospital for a report of a 15-year-old girl who had been sexually assaulted.
Investigators were told the girl had been picked up from her home around midnight on June 7 and taken to a spot along the riverbank where she was encouraged to drink alcohol.
“She then was sexually assaulted by two males and left at the location in a vulnerable state,” the police release said. “She was discovered some time later by a passerby who called for help.”
Police believe other girls or women may be victims of similar attacks. Anyone with information is asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
