Have you ever heard of a windmill being stolen?
That’s exactly what Mounties say happened at a rural property near Vibank, a community about 50 kilometres southeast of Regina.
Police are on the lookout for whoever stole the 41-foot-tall structure sometime between May 16 and May 19.
In a news release Monday, the RCMP said the windmill is almost 100 years old, and it could not have been an easy task for the alleged thieves.
“This would not have been exactly a simple task to accomplish and certainly would have required more than one person and some sort of equipment to remove from the property,” the release read.
The Mounties also provided a description.
“The windmill is missing a fan blade, has bullet holes in it and the tail fin has ‘Chicago’ written on it,” the release said.
Anyone with information on where the windmill could be is asked to give the Indian Head RCMP a call.
