With the dry, windy conditions as of late, grass fire season is in full swing.
Saskatoon fire crews responded to a report of a grass fire on the north side of the railway tracks along Highway 7 at Range Road 3065 early Wednesday afternoon.
The Canadian National (CN) railway was called as the fire was along its tracks.
CN shut down the tracks until the fire was extinguished.
About 40 minutes later, the wind changed direction and the fire began burning to the south.
The Saskatoon Fire Department sent more trucks to the scene to help fight the blaze.
The trains were able to move again at about 3:30 p.m.
