Saskatchewan has extended its public health measures for two additional weeks.
In a media release Tuesday, the Ministry of Health said the current measures will remain in place until May 10 as a result of what it called “increased COVID-19 transmission risk throughout the province.”
The current measures were to expire next Monday.
Under the current orders, private indoor gatherings in the province are limited to members of the same household only. As well, outdoor gatherings are restricted to a maximum of 10 people and physical distancing between households is mandatory.
There are stricter measures in place for the Regina region, where restaurants and licensed establishments have been closed for in-person dining. Event venues such as banquet halls and theatres also are closed.
As well, in-person worship services across Saskatchewan are capped at 30 people.
Unnecessary travel anywhere in the province isn’t recommended.
The government also announced it has updated public health guidance for individual, outdoor non-contact sports such as tennis and pickleball. The updated guidelines can be seen here.
