The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added some more international talent to their roster.
The 2021 CFL global draft took place Thursday morning, with the Roughriders holding four picks.
At fifth overall, the Roughriders drafted German fullback Christopher Ezeala.
The Munich-born fullback attended training camp with the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens in 2018 and 2019.
With the 14th pick, the Roughriders selected punter Kaare Vedvik.
Born in Stavanger, Norway, Vedvik has bounced around the NFL since 2018, including stints with the Ravens, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers and Washington Football Team.
In the third round (23rd overall), the Roughriders stuck with special teams, selecting South African kicker John Henry Nell.
With their final pick at 32nd overall, the Roughriders selected Finnish receiver Sebastien Sagne. He played with the Helsinki Wolverines in Finland’s Maple League.
