The CFL’s next top Canadians may be found in May.
The league has announced the draft will take place on May 4 at 5 p.m.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders hold the second overall pick. In 2020, the Roughriders used their first-round pick on University of Saskatchewan Huskies offensive lineman Mattland Riley.
The Roughriders have drafted some of the league’s top Canadian players, including offensive lineman Ben Heenan (2012, first overall), slotback Andy Fantuz (2006, third overall) and linebacker Cam Judge (2017, second overall).
Judge joined the Toronto Argonauts in 2021 after signing a contract with the team during his first foray into free agency.
University of Saskatchewan defensive back Nelson Lokombo and University of Regina Rams teammates Robbie Lowes and Kyle Borsa are eligible for the upcoming draft.
