You’re going to want to take a look around your yard if you live in the southwest region of Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued a wind warning for areas in and around Leader, Gull Lake, Shaunavon, Maple Creek, Val Marie and Cypress Hills early Sunday afternoon.
Local wind gusts in the area have the potential to hit 90 km/h through Sunday, overnight into Monday morning. Wind-prone areas around Cypress Hills will see sustained wind speeds of 70 km/h as well.
Environment Canada said damage to buildings may happen, and loose objects could be tossed by the strong winds.
The low-pressure system causing the damaging winds moved through central Alberta and into Saskatchewan through the morning hours.
