A 34-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with an incident Wednesday in the Lakeview area of the city.
Kevin Michael Hollman appeared at Saskatoon provincial court by video Thursday morning.
He is accused of killing his 60-year-old mother Debbie Hollman early Wednesday morning. Her 65-year-old husband Gary Hollman survived the incident and was taken to hospital with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” according to a Saskatoon police news release.
Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Wakaw Place just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday to investigate a disturbance.
Kevin Hollman was Tasered and arrested by officers. He is scheduled to return to court Jan. 14.
It was the city’s first murder of 2021.
