A sizeable theft at a Moose Jaw school has police investigating.
The Education Ministry is reporting one loss among Saskatchewan’s school divisions during the first quarter of the financial year. It took place in mid-August at St. Michael School in Moose Jaw’s Palliser Heights neighbourhood.
According to a report to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, four 75-inch televisions were delivered to St. Michael by school division staff. They were placed in the school gym on Aug. 17. When employees arrived at the school the next day to install them, they found the televisions were missing.
Assuming the TVs stolen, Moose Jaw police were contacted. Security footage turned up nothing and doors and entrances were inspected for signs of forced entry.
The province says the loss is worth $4,000. The televisions have since been replaced.
