A call about a domestic dispute ended with a man in custody, charged with assaulting police.
According to a media release, officers with the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) were called to a domestic dispute call on the 900 block of 15th St. E. When they arrived they found a man in the house who was allegedly breaching court conditions.
The officers attempted to arrest him, but the man allegedly fought them, attempting to grab a taser from one of them. The officer discharged the taser and they were able to take the suspect into custody.
After being checked by paramedics, the man was arrested and charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer, and two counts of breaching his release orders.
The SPS indicated that the incident will be reviewed under its use of force guidelines.
