A man and a woman are facing charges stemming from an alleged incident of child abuse in Saskatoon.
The Saskatoon Police Service says the victims were two boys, aged four and seven, and a 10-year-old girl.
According to a media release from Saskatoon police, officers received a report at about 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 of a young boy on the roof of a home in the 600 block of Lenore Drive.
When police arrived, others had got the boy down to safety. Further investigation found another boy confined to a bedroom in the home.
The investigation continued with the Saskatoon Police Service’s Child Abuse Unit. As a result of its findings, a man and a woman were arrested without incident at a home on Lenore Drive on Thursday.
The 36-year-old woman is charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts each of failing to provide the necessities of life, criminal negligence causing bodily harm and forcible confinement.
The 28-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon and assault.
