Need your driveway shoveled, but don’t have the ability to or the time?
There’s an app for that.
Bailey Mosiman of Regina is the owner of NoSnow, an app that brings those who need snow shoveled, and those willing to do the shoveling together.
It’s an Uber-style app where each party enters their information to connect and was developed by Push Interactions in Saskatoon.
Mosiman says they’ve kept their prices low in the hopes of getting the attention to grow the company.
“Most of that money will actually go to our shovelers,” Mosiman said. “We’re looking to get this big so right now we’re looking to give low prices to anyone who’s posting jobs and then also paying shovelers well because especially through a pandemic people need some extra cash right now.”
“Picking up a snow shovel which everybody has because we live in Saskatchewan is a very easy way to make some extra money.”
Right now the app can only be found on the Apple App store, but Mosiman hopes it will be available on other platforms in the future.
He says another draw with the business, is those who shovel will get paid right away.
“If we can provide people with quick payment it would seem like a good thing,” said Mosiman. “If they were in a pickle they could just go shovel some driveways and get some cash.”
He says their launch wasn’t in time for the November blizzard so they didn’t see any business from that, but Mosiman is confident for the future.
“It is Saskatchewan, we do live in Canada and I’m sure it’s going to snow again so I’m not down in the dumps at all.”
Service will begin in Saskatoon and Regina but Mosiman hopes to expand to other centres in the future.
