Prince Albert Police Service has been notified that one of its members tested positive for COVID-19.
A release stated that Prince Albert Police found out on Friday, Oct. 16. The officer had been self-isolating at home since Monday, Oct. 13, and is following all recommended guidelines from the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).
The release added that police are cooperating with a contact tracing investigation currently underway by the SHA, and will be taking steps to sanitize and disinfect both police locations over the weekend.
The identity of the officer who tested positive will not be released to the public to protect their privacy. Further health updates will not be provided.
Residents requesting police assistance can expect to be asked whether they have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or if they are ill or showing symptoms of the virus.
