12:00 – South Dakota author Gary Wietgrefe (whose resume also includes inventor, researcher, military intelligence veteran, economist, agriculturalist, and more) has written a memoir about his 5,000-km journey from South Dakota to the North Pole, a journey he made on the back of a bicycle. Wietgrefe, being assisted on the journey by his loving wife, headed north on an old bicycle and peddled an average of 121 kilometers per-day for 42 days while his wife went ahead to find nightly food and accommodation. In his book, ‘Destination North Pole: 5,000 km by Bicycle,’ Wietgrefe talks about some Saskatchewan stops he made on the journey, including Estevan and Yorkton. He joins Gormley to talk about his trip and the book that came from it.
