Saskatoon police now say an incident on 8th Street East this morning is being investigated as a homicide.
At about 7:20 Sunday morning, police received a 911 call about an injured person at a business in the 1000 block of 8th Street East.
Police and Medavie Health Services responded to the area and found an injured and unresponsive 22-year-old man laying in the roadway at the intersection of Clarence Avenue South and 8th Street East.
The 22-year-old was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Saskatoon police, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Sections were called out and are continuing their investigation with the help of the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
