Saskatoon police and the Saskatoon Fire Department had a busy day dealing with two suspicious packages on the U of S campus.
Tuesday afternoon the hazmat team and bomb disposal unit attended to the VIDO-InterVac Research Centre after a suspicious package was discovered in the building.
It led to the evacuation and closure of part of the building.
The substance in the package was later determined not to be a threat.
As that scene was wrapping up, a second suspicious package was found in a campus building in the100 block of Administration Place. It too was not dangerous.
The all-clear on campus was given just after 8:30 p.m. and buildings were re-opened.
In a release, the fire department stated there was no risk to public safety.
Police say since the packages were deemed to not be explosive or hazardous, this is not a criminal investigation.
