Saskatoon police say the early-morning death of a 62-year-old man in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood is being investigated as a homicide.
In a release, police say at about 1:50 Thursday morning, officers responded to the 200 block of Avenue W South after receiving 911 calls that someone was injured.
When they arrived, they found a man on the sidewalk who was suffering from a stab wound.
He was transported to hospital where he later died.
The Major Crime and Forensic Identification sections were called out and continued the investigation along with assistance from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
An autopsy was completed Thursday afternoon.
A 34-year-old Saskatoon man has been arrested and is in police custody, although charges haven’t been laid at this time.
