A 46-year-old Saskatoon man is facing numerous weapons-related charges after a traffic stop in the Haultain area Monday morning.
At around 11 a.m., patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle near Albert Avenue and Fifth Street East.
The man who was driving the vehicle was found to be breaching his court-ordered conditions and was then arrested.
Police say in a release that a machete, a knife, a bow and arrows, ammunition and bear spray were also found and seized from the vehicle.
Officers also found numerous identification documents in the man’s wallet, which had previously been reported stolen.
The man is charged with three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of identity documents relating to another person, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and breach of conditions.
Pleasant Hill traffic stop results in drug trafficking-related charges
A 31-year-old man is facing drug trafficking-related charges after a traffic stop in the Pleasant Hill area Monday night.
In a release, Saskatoon police say at about 8:30 p.m., officers with the Community Mobilization Unit saw a brown 1999 Pontiac Sunfire driving erratically near 19th Street West and Avenue W South.
A traffic stop was conducted and police observed a Taser on the seat of the car. A man and a woman who were in the car were arrested.
A knife and a machete were also found inside the vehicle.
A further search of the vehicle revealed numerous cellphones, a scale and nearly 78 grams of crack cocaine.
The man is charged with possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possession of dangerous weapons.
The woman was released without charges.
Woman arrested after traffic stop on Highway 16 reveals unstamped tobacco and cocaine
A 33-year-old woman was arrested for possession of unstamped tobacco and cocaine after a traffic stop on Highway 16 near Wynyard Monday night.
RCMP say at around 9 p.m. a traffic stop was made on a vehicle for a driver’s license, vehicle registration and driver sobriety check.
During the stop, officers saw that the woman, and lone occupant, from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta was in possession of unstamped tobacco. She was then arrested for being in possession of unstamped tobacco.
During a search of the vehicle, officers located and seized several packs of unstamped tobacco and six kilograms of suspected cocaine.
She was then arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Charges against the woman are pending under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and The Tobacco Tax Act, 1998.
