SHA advisory warns of possible COVID-19 exposures at more Swift Current businesses

The Saskatchewan Health Authority issued an advisory late Thursday about possible exposure to COVID-19 at four Swift Current businesses on July 14.

According to the authority, a person who subsequently tested positive was at Home Hardware from 11 a.m. to noon, the Dollarama in the Swift Current Mall from 3 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., Staples from 3:20 p.m. to 4:10 p.m., and Canadian Tire from 4:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“While the individual did hand sanitize prior to entering the stores, they were not wearing a mask and could therefore pass along the virus through air droplets,” the SHA said in its advisory.

People who were at the businesses during the listed times are reminded to watch for symptoms of COVID-19. If symptoms develop, individuals should self-isolate and call HealthLine 811.

Residents are reminded to practise physical distancing, to follow directional signage in stores and to wash their hands frequently.

A similar advisory was issued Monday relating to other businesses in Swift Current, Ponteix and Cut Knife.

The advisory Thursday followed one issued earlier in the day about an increase in transmissions in the rural municipalities of Cut Knife and Hillsdale.
