A 37-year-old Saskatoon man is facing a charge of sexual assault in connection with a 2019 incident in the Willowgrove neighbourhood.
He’s also facing a charge of breach of conditions.
Saskatoon police say in a release that on Oct. 17, 2019, a patrol officer was dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Stensrud Road.
A family member had asked police to check on the welfare of a young man who was thought to be at that address.
Upon arrival, the officer found two men in the home — the then-18-year-old subject of the welfare check and another man.
The teen spoke with the officer before leaving the home on foot.
Police say based on information from the patrol officer, an investigator from the Sex Crime Unit began an investigation that has resulted in the charges.
In a separate incident in October of 2019, police executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Stensrud Road after a 19-year-old man reported he had been assaulted and forcibly confined in the home.
Police at that time said the victim met the man through a social networking app.
A man was charged at the time with aggravated assault, forcible confinement and breach of an undertaking.
Police have confirmed to 650 CKOM that while these two incidents are separate, the accused in both of them is the same man.
