Libraries were given the green light to open their doors Monday as part of Phase 4.2 of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan, but bookworms in Regina will have to wait a bit longer.
The Regina Public Library (RPL) has announced it aims to reopen all locations by July 13.
The organization just wasn’t ready to get back to business with the new COVID-19 regulations.
“Our community has been waiting for this, and we’re thrilled to know that we’ll be welcoming customers back to our spaces very soon, but we need a bit more time to prepare for a safe re-opening,” Kevin Saunderson with RPL said in a statement.
The libraries will take the time to hammer out the details for social distancing protocols.
Hours will also be reduced. All branches will be open from 10 a.m to 6 p.m from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, business hours will run from 1 p.m to 5 p.m.
In the meantime, the library will continue to offer curbside pickup and digital options to its patrons.
