A fire early Saturday morning tore through a Pacific Heights home, destroying it and a detached garage.
Crews responded to multiple 911 calls about a fire on the 300 block of Johnson Crescent at 1:11 a.m.
Arriving firefighters found the garage engulfed in flames. Fire extended to the back of the house with fallen power lines.
Crews got the fire under control around 3 a.m. and remained on the scene to extinguish hot spots.
A man and woman that live in the house were not home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters discovered two dead dogs during a search of the structure.
The house and garage are a total loss with $400,000 in damage.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
Later on Saturday afternoon, crews responded to a fire in the 100 block of Avenue O South.
The building was a boarded up home and nobody was inside.
However, the fire department considers the blaze to be suspicious.
