Two men are facing drug- and gun-related charges after a traffic stop in Saskatoon on Tuesday evening.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, officers stopped a vehicle at 35th Street West and Avenue D North at about 7:30 p.m. The driver was issued a ticket for having a suspended licence and he and the passenger in their vehicle were told to go on their way on foot.
Before the vehicle was towed, officers searched it and found two loaded guns under the passenger seat. The men were tracked down several blocks away and arrested.
A 26-year-old man from Rosthern is facing numerous firearms charges as well as charges for breach of a firearm prohibition, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of methamphetamine.
A 25-year-old man from Saskatoon also is facing firearms charges and also charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of methamphetamine and obstruction.
