A 21-year-old man is facing charges after an altercation on a city bus Monday night.
At about 9:45 p.m., members of the Saskatoon police bike unit were alerted by a transit driver in the 200 block of Second Avenue North that a man had become violent on a bus.
Police say they were told the man had been acting aggressively and had attempted to hit the driver before taking off on foot.
The suspect was then found near 24th Street East and Ontario Avenue. He refused to give his name and comply with police.
When officers tried to arrest him, he took off again. A taser was deployed but was not successful in disabling the suspect.
A member of the canine unit located the man attempting to hide in a recycling bin in the 100 block of Idylwyld Drive North.
He was taken into custody without further incident. No one was injured.
The man is charged with obstruction and breach of probation.
Police say the incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
