Two of the eight people charged in the disappearance and death of Tiki Laverdiere received sentences Friday.
Mavis Takakenew and Brent Checkosis pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to murder. The details of their trials are subject to publication bans.
On Friday Takakekenew was sentenced to 18 months incarceration. She is entitled to credit for 180 days she spent in custody before the ruling.
The judge sentenced Checkosis to seven years minus time served which works out to just over five and a half years.
Nicole Cook, Nikita Sandra Cook, Soaring Eagle Whitstone, Jesse Sangster, Danita Thomas and Shayla Orthner also face charges in connection.
Laverdiere went missing last May after attending a funeral in the North Battleford area.
The 25-year old was reported missing on May 12, 2019.
Her remains were discovered in a rural area outside of North Battleford on July 11, 2019, and identified a few days later.
